Charles County Office Furniture is a local, woman owned company that provides quality office furniture to various commercial, federal, state, county, educational and institutional entities. Located in White Plains, Maryland, Charles County Office Furniture mainly provides services to the local Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC area. After moving to Southern Maryland in 1984, as a single mother, I had a difficult time finding a job that would keep me local with my two teenage boys. My professional experience was in office supply and furniture. I saw a need in the area for a company that specialized in supplying quality office furniture. Our local newspaper was moving into a new building. They allowed me to palace a bid as a new, small business, and I was awarded the project. After the job was completed the Maryland Independent sponsored my membership with the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, with a glowing recommendation. My affiliation with the Charles County Chamber of Commerce has been a long and fruitful relationship for both myself and the Chamber. I obtained my MBE certification in 1994 which opened the door to opportunities at the University of Maryland as well as local and state governments. Besides being able to provide for my family, my proudest accomplishment is my business reputation of great customer service, reliable furniture and services. Being a business that gives back to the community as well as being known for those attributes myself is something else I am proud of.
